Where there is a Will, standing right behind him is a Jada, where there is a Russell behind him? A Kimora. In the case of Sha Money XL there is an Angela. Prepared and ready to take on the highly lucrative fashion world, Angela Clervoix is just as about her business as her husband is.
Raised on Chicago´ Southside, Angela and her family headed out west, trading the windy city for the more temperate climate of Arizona when she was a teenager. Her parents have been franchise owners for the last 27 years and currently own 12 McDonald´s stores throughout North Phoenix. As she grew up Angela was taught how to make money, "Being exposed to the business side as well as working in the restaurants themselves. I inherited the principal of hard work which a lot of children from wealthy families miss out on"
But it was while living in NYC and working alongside her husband in the music industry that Angela´s creativity began to manifest. And how could it not with her husband being an instrumental figure in the rise of 50 Cent and the entire G-Unit Empire. "Having the opportunity to be a part of one the music industry biggest movements, it became almost impossible to not become inspired to make sure I didn't leave my mark in the world and have something to pass down to my children"
Knowing that forward planning was the key to success and armed with a vision Angela enrolled in the revered New York Fashion Institute’s Summer Program for entrepreneurs. Four years in the affluent community of The North Shore in Long Island, NY had schooled her and Angela recognized that her own style, inventiveness and experience would put her exactly where she wanted to be.
As a North Scottsdale adoptee herself and with the booming build-up that had taken place since she took flight to NYC, Angela decided to set up her vacation home in Chandler, Arizona. She was adamant that her down time would be the alter ego of the regular hustle and bustle of the families New York living. “When we came back to visit and the Fulton Ranch Community was being built, I saw that it was something special and something that I wanted to be a part of.” And it was here Angela opted to set up shop, her own retail haven.
This sanctuary of kid’s apparel will be bridging the gap for those who don’t necessarily want to head to the retail Mecca of Scottsdale to shop for kids clothing. "People create phenomenon’s, and Scottsdale has become just that, ‘the only place you can find couture or the trendiest styles in Arizona is in Scottsdale.’ But that’s like saying you can only find the best in Beverly Hills boutiques, what about Orange County? Newport Beach? People will be able to come to Sabrina Sky and be assured we stock the most up to date clothing lines and trends allowing the customer to expect what they would get when shopping in Scottsdale or any other major fashion hub.”
Named after her own child who she lost to SIDS in 2005, Sabrina Sky the store is a testimony to just how far the family has come. “Sabrina’s death came at a very hectic time in our lives. I was a young Mother with two young children in a new city. My husband was at the height of his career and was out on the road. I had a lot of time alone and had no-one but myself and God to build me back up,” Angela states. “Over the years as I have become stronger, the family has become tighter, I understand where the saying ‘the woman is the backbone’ came from. Sabrina gave me more in our short time together than I have ever received from anyone in 27 years.”
Not only will the store be a unique reminder of her child, Angela wants Sabrina Sky go beyond the selling of clothes. “From my customers to my employees, each will feel the spirit of Sabrina Sky,” says Angela, who through all of the highs and lows of living a life in the public eye, remains humbled, grounded and forever positive through her experiences. “When we have been given a platform to make a difference we should take advantage of that and not take it for granted,” she explains. “I have my angel with me and we are going to do some great things; I have caught the philanthropic spirit that has now become a part of pop culture and I plan to have a hand in guiding this new generation.”
Like anything the Clervoix family gets involved in, nothing is done without extensive thought and planning to guarantee positive results for all involved.
